A number of government employees appeared on the Spring Festival gift list of the developer involved in the "AIDS Demolition Team" in Nanyang, Henan Province. After the incident was disclosed, the Discipline Inspection Commission of Nanyang City's Wolong District immediately intervened in the investigation. The latest report from the Information Office of the Nanyang Municipal Government showed that more than 20 people, including the sub-district office, district housing and urban construction bureau, and district collection office, received red envelopes during the Spring Festival group worship event held by relevant developers. In accordance with relevant regulations, the Wolong District Discipline Inspection Commission imposed party and government disciplinary sanctions on those involved.

The investigation results showed that on January 26, 2014, Yi'an Real Estate Company held a Spring Festival tea party for company employees in a hotel in Nanyang. Feng, the company's deputy general manager in charge of the project, proposed to invite relevant leaders and staff from the Meixi Sub-district Office, the Wolong District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, and the Wolong District Expropriation Office in the area where the "Yi'an Tianxia City" project is located to participate. Like the employees of the participating companies, each person will be given shopping vouchers worth 500 yuan for shopping malls. To this end, the company has also prepared a distribution list of 31 people to be invited in advance.

29 people received 500 yuan shopping mall shopping vouchers

On the afternoon of the same day, Liu Xiaoli, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Meixi Street, Hua Deqi, director of the office, Lu Kang, deputy director of the office, Wang Yongfang, director of the National People's Congress Working Committee, Geng Yun, secretary of the Discipline Working Committee, Zhang Yuping, director of the group work station, 14 staff members from Meixi Street and Xiguan Community of Meixi Street, 1 A total of 29 people attended the tea party, including Wang Hesheng, deputy director of the Wolong District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau; Zhan Guoping, director of the Wolong District Collection Office, and Wang Shuqiang, deputy director of the Wolong District Collection Office; and 2 staff members and 3 non-public employees of the Wolong District Collection Office. Two people on the list to be distributed did not attend. After the tea party began, the staff of Yi'an Real Estate distributed a red envelope containing five shopping mall shopping coupons with a face value of 100 yuan to each person present. After accepting the red envelope, 29 people left one after another before the tea party ended.

25 people except public officials were given disciplinary sanctions by the party and government

The Nanyang Municipal Government reported that the above 29 people, except for 4 non-public employees, 20 other staff members and 5 community workers accepted corporate red envelope gifts, which seriously violated the eight central regulations and the relevant provisions on integrity and self-discipline, and caused a negative impact on society. After study by the Standing Committee of the Wolong District Discipline Inspection Commission and the Office of the Director of the Wolong District Supervision Bureau, it was decided that while all the gifts received by the 29 people would be confiscated, the above 25 people would be given party and government disciplinary sanctions.

Among them, Liu Xiaoli, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Meixi Street, was punished by being dismissed from her party position; Hua Deqi, director of the Meixi Street Office, and Wang Yongfang, director of the People's Congress Working Committee of Meixi Street, were given serious warnings within the party; Geng Yun, secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of Meixi Street, Lu Kang, deputy director of the office, Zhang Yuping, director of the group work station, and deputy director of the Wolong District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau Director Wang Hesheng, Wolong District Collection Office Director Zhan Guoping, and Deputy Director Wang Shuqiang were given intra-party warning sanctions; 9 people including Dong Chaoli, a staff member of the Meixi Subdistrict Office, and 5 other people including Hu Xiaoai, secretary of the Xiguan Community Party Branch, were given administrative warnings and intra-party warning sanctions; Wolong District Demolition Office employees Tang Yuping and Wang Ke were given warning sanctions.

In addition, the Wolong District Discipline Inspection and Supervision Bureau is still further investigating and verifying the situation of the real estate company’s banquet with relevant government departments.
